'It's like they never miss a pass': Swansea's Galbraith continues contest with City.

Ethan Galbraith breaks into a smile as he reminisces about the dramatic dying seconds of his team's stunning fightback victory against Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup. The game ended with Galbraith temporarily wearing a fan's glasses after the post-goal scrum.

As the match entered added time, Galbraith rattled the woodwork with a powerful effort from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess quickly slammed home the deflection before sprinting toward the East Stand to revel in the moment, with the crowd mobbing the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The result capped an unbelievable comeback given the Welsh side had been behind 2-0 during the latter period. In the delirium, there was some minor mishaps. He shared, "There was a fan shouting out and Josh Key and I were puzzled: 'What's he on about here?' Then we noticed the glasses. It was a bit of banter putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The result secured a next round fixture at home against the Premier League champions on Wednesday, a team Galbraith pushed hard at the equivalent round of the FA Cup with his former club in February. He had arguably the best view when his former team took the lead in remarkable manner, with a teammate's long-range effort from about way out going in via the bar and the opposition keeper. It seems unfair that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have expected they would've awarded it to him for attempting the shot from that range," stated Galbraith, who played in the middle before moving to right defensive wing after the team changed tactics. That meant getting to grips with the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the attacker was among the City players who praised the way Orient attacked the game.

City's Quality

"Athletically they are very good but even the fundamentals and routine actions, they can just do it over and over again," he explains. "It appears that they always find their target and they are adept at manage and slow down a game. You can believe you're holding your own and then without warning they will just thread a ball past your midfield without you even noticing. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It demands a strong mentality and attention just to stay in the game."

Welsh Transition

The club pushed to sign Galbraith in January and secured his signature to bring him in in the summer in a significant move. He established himself as a fans' favourite across two seasons at Orient and has swiftly achieved similar status in Wales. At Orient he joined forces once more with Richie Wellens, who four years ago gave Galbraith his first extended run in first-team action on loan at his loan club from Old Trafford. Then came a spell at fourth-tier Salford City, before he departed Old Trafford.

Growth Journey

"I was likely a bit naive going into senior level. I think numerous professionals would say youth team games is very different. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without serious challenge. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing professional matches you have to learn quickly."

International Recognition

He has demonstrated that development for both domestically and internationally, excelling for Northern Ireland, who could still reach the World Cup next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has been selected in the recent fixtures, including home and away games against a football powerhouse. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, paid him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he controls possession and his eye for a killer pass.

Humble Beginnings

This marks a remarkable path for the player from the local area in his hometown, just outside the capital, who used to see his parent, the elder Galbraith, also a midfielder, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

His only game for the Red Devils came in Central Asia in 2019, a Europa League trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the stadium roof was closed owing to temperatures of freezing cold. "This represented a lengthy journey and it was chilly," he comments, chuckling. "The week before, several youth players and I practiced as a group, so that helped us acclimatise. Just to accompany the senior squad and make an appearance at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

How difficult was it to depart Manchester United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged his mid-teens? "The decision proved fairly simple, because I arrived at the moment where I realized I wasn't going to make it at the top level. I'm hugely grateful for the experience gained but it became apparent where I thought I required a fresh start, drop down the leagues and play first-team games. Now I'm gradually climbing the ladder."

Welsh Adaptation

This occurs during mid-afternoon at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has an appointment at the early evening: a road rules assessment, another progress toward getting on the road. Before his recent move to Sketty, the mid-twenties player was a regular in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a team vehicle driven by academy staff, the transport team, which transports players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include a teammate, Ronald, an Ivorian player – Melker Widell used to be in it but has got his license. It's enjoyable to socialize with the lads but I'm aiming to be the subsequent individual to drive independently and on the road. Franco enjoys practical jokes; he's frequently playing tricks."

Supporter Connections

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would travel alongside supporters on the Tube after starting his journey at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
